Stop being lazy and carry something to slow us down(omg i said us, i must use a touch ranger, hunt me down and rip my arms off!) or shut our skills down, really, it's not that hard, start taking a degen mesmer or necro and we're in trouble. Just because the obvious isn't so obvious doesn't mean touch ranger are overpowered, stop sucking at GW and you'll figure out that the underused, or even widely used skills, are the answer to your "problems".


Stop requesting nerfs, how about just request they completely remove expertise? Jeez, babies.

everybody saying don't nerf touch rangers are the same ones that run 4 man touch groups in alliance battles.

Touch rangers are built on what I think is a mistake. How is it that vamp gaze is a spell but vamp touch isn't? Sure touch requires touch range but it steals more life and has a faster recharge, making it basically an identical balance to vamp gaze. Touch rangers aren't overpowered as they are annoying. I'm just sick of seeing them alllll the time.

Make vamp touch, vamp bite spells. Skills like plague touch, touch of agony, vile touch, and wallows bite can remain skills but this is really unimportant, vamp touch and vamp bite are the whole build.

Touch ranger is an above average, borderline overpowered build that a braindead moron can run while watching television. This is a big part of what bothers me. People with no skill need to go back to their wammo and suck again.

As it stands touch rangers defense says well, bring crippling shot or something to slow us down. Is every group supposed to just know they are gonna fight 101 newbs playing the build of the brainless and bring ward versus newbs? No, they are to build to fight real players.

Touch Rangers are real players and it's a totally legit build.

Furthermore, there are many players running ineffective newbie builds of the Touch Ranger, like the one listed in "The Scribe". No doubt many more people who have read "The Scribe" and decided to use the skills listed by name in it will try a Touch Ranger for the first time with those skills, and obviously be a liability to their team because of it. You want Touch Rangers to suck: well, a ton of them already do.

It's only above average because most non-common builds suck. You could say there is almost no uncommon build that above average. "Average build" in Guild Wars is a really, really low standard. Hence it does not follow that "above average" is overpowered.

Yes, every group is supposed to know they will be fighting Touch Rangers and bring the appropriate counters for it. A group that does not bother trying to counter Touch Rangers should not be able to counter them. That is common sense that applies to any build.

A group that doesnt bring a counter for touch rangers knowing that they will be in a battle is the real noob, not the touch ranger.

1 touchy is so very easy to ignore or kill, a TA of 4 is a bit more annoying but it serves its purpose of weeding out crap teams.

The only difficult map is the deathmatch map with the kill count, its only then you might make a mistake and die thus whole team dies.


4 touch rangers are weak to hexes and degen just like any other build with no dedicated healer.

Twas amusing the other day when we faced a 4 touchy team on our Soul Barbs/Hex Overload, it was the easiest fight in a long time. When you can maintain ~20degen on each ranger, TU serves just to stop them running for 3 seconds xD

For the first time since I started playing GW(Betas) I think that a build / skills should be nerfed / fixed. Touch Ranger teams combined with Anets inability to improve the lag issues(another topic altogether) usually equals instant death.

In AB a team of 9 Touch Rangers and 3 MM's is , as I witnessed firsthand were Unbeatable by a mixed team(The same team of Kursick 9 touch & 3 MM"s beat the Luxon teams I was on 3 times in a row 500 to less than 100. The 2nd battle they was actually camped on our starting point after killing the NPC's and killing us as soon as we rez'd needless to say some schmuck Luxons resigned at that point , I stayed and took my lumps until the timer for them having control of all 7 shrines ended the match).

Get touched by 3 rangers at the same time and it's instant death allowing the MM's to use your body for a minion , all downhill from there.

As for those of you saying ; "well be prepared for them and learn to play." As I'm sure you're aware AB's like RA's , one cannot fully prepare for every eventuality and by trying to be prepared to counter one build you are leaving yourself suscebtable to a multitude of other builds. In over the year that I've been playing GW I have developed builds on all of my characters that can handle / hang with the majority of other builds I have come up against, until now, until Touch Rangers discovered that they have an unbalanced advantage if they team up.

Seriously, I still don't understand. Balanced teams don't bring a snare??? No Spike trap? No Cripling Anguish?? No Water Hexes or ward foes???

I think the people saying "balanced teams can't beat touch" need to put some more thought into their builds and less effort into nerf calls for others. Your team is NOT balanced if it suffers from such an obvious omision that you and your friends ignore these powerful skills, not for the sake of R/Ns in particular, but for Whammos, Assassins, PBAoE Spikers, et al.

I've been on both sides of this build. It's a paper tank. It can't survive spike worth a damn. it can't self heal without being in-your-face range with an enemy and it has NO WAY to reduce damage other than attack evade skills, and those up only a bare 1/3 of the time. Against total idiots, yes; I dominate with the build. I can kill 3 people back to back if they don't have the skill or the Skills to combat me properly.

Then again, my whammo says the same.

Good Castors have NO problem with R/Ns. Kiters have no issue with R/Ns.

Touch Rangers are good in the fact that they use both their professions very synergetically. That is what Guild wars is about. You can have 2 professions for a reason.

still, blind/blurred vision should work on them. If i can't see I can't easilly touch them on the appropiate place.

Seeing that clumsiness works on kicking their ass, i don't understand why empathy doesn't work either.

but for the rest, chainknockdowns work, grenths balance is funny followed up with a chainknockdown on them, energytappingstuff is funny on them (fear me spam...), slowdown is funny (watersnare follewed up with water trident ), etc.

imo most is bs, 1. e-denial works
2. diversion wont work they have both vamp bite and touch and you can live with only 1 of them
3. how the hell will you interrupt a vamp bite ? (3/4 sec <-- gg)
4. cripple, ok will work but they have atleast 1 sprint so.
5. if they bite you, degen wont work
6. kiting won't work they have atleast 1 sprint

People need to evolve in game instead of cry and whine for nerfs whenever they encounter change in tactics that they don't like. If your builds are no longer effective then it is time for "ME/YOU" to evolve.

Problem is that this doesn't bode well for the lazy of which we all are to some degree..... myself for certain admittedly.

Usually there is a cry of simpletons resistant to change as a natural instinct to encountering a lose that people feel they are somehow superior to, they feel they are always supposed to "win" at whatever game they are playing.

Sadly, it's indicative of society of late in which there is the quick thoughtless cry for someone else to take responsibility for what we don't like, rather then fix the problem ourselves with our own intelligence.

Again, I favor evolution of thought and tactics rather then crying for nerfs so I can keep my same old simple tactics that I have come to love as being my own personal advantage over others.

Touch Rangers are cheating hackers and should be removed from the game. Infact, anything that exploits the game by being stonger in one particular area than anything else should be removed.

Unfortunately for all those crying out for a nerf, that means they'd have to remove every profession from the game, because lets be honest, is it fair that a hammer warrior can take you out in a couple of hits? Is it fair that a mesmer can basically shutdown anything? Is it fair that your oponents can heal themselves? Course not, so nerf away...
